No Format Changes For Now In Indy

That’s according to The Indianapolis Business Journal which reports that the formats for the three stations Cumulus is getting from Entercom in that blockbuster deal announced last week will stay as is. WZPL-FM is a Top 40 station, WNTR-FM is AC and sports-talker WXNT-AM carries a sports talk format. Cumulus will LMA the stations from Entercom March 1.

Entercom employees will eventually move over to Cumulus studios in Indianapolis where Cumulus already owned WJJK-FM (Classic Rock), WFMS-FM (Country) and WYRG-FM (Top 40). Of course it remains to be seen if Cumulus decides to keep two Top 40 formats in the cluster, once the sale is closed and the smoke settles from the deal.

Cumulus EVP of Operations Dave Milner told IBJ that these formats fit nicely with Cumulus’ current line-up of stations and the combined audience of the new group, “will help advertisers reach almost 1 million Indianapolis consumers.”
