Spanish Radio Academy President Jorge Álvarez and Spanish Ambassador to the U.S. Santiago Cabanas presented NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith the International Award from the Spanish Radio Academy on World Radio Day, February 13, 2019. The award recognizes Senator Smith’s help in establishing World Radio Day, which was proclaimed on November 3, 2011 by UNESCO’s 36th General Conference after originally being proposed by the Kingdom of Spain.
