Chicago Station Sends Care To The Troops

Chicago Classic Rock station 97.1 FM – The Drive recently collaborated with Operation Gratitude to send holiday care packages to servicemen and women overseas. Throughout the months of November and December, the station limited edition, Drive-logoed Christmas ornaments at events throughout the Chicagoland region, raising $5,275 for Operation Gratitude – an organization dedicated to providing care packages for U.S troops abroad.

Kevin Schmiegel, Chief Executive Officer of Operation Gratitude and Retired Lieutenant Colonel, USMC saidd, “Thanks to The Drive’s ‘Christmas with Care’ Ornament Campaign, Operation Gratitude was able to deliver hundreds of Care Packages to U.S. service members deployed around the globe this Holiday Season.” 

WDRV Program Director, Rob Cressman, added, “We are grateful to The Chicago Community and its swift support of The Drive’s mission to give back to the men and women of our Armed Services. We stand united in our salute to this earnest cause at Christmas and all year long.”
