Job Description:

WideOrbit’s Radio Automation team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Product Manager. As a Product Manager, you’ll play a critical role in guiding the future of WO Automation for Radio. You’ll bridge the technical and business worlds that our customers can depend on.  You’ll collaborate with others to develop creative solutions that we can confidently showcase to internal and external stakeholders. Here is what you’ll be doing:

Be a product evangelist, sharing the benefits of the software with other WideOrbiter’s, WO’s reseller network, existing and prospective customers.
Provide input and strategic ideas contributing to the overall success of the product. Respond appropriately to industry trends and maintain up-to-date knowledge of competing systems.
Initiate and drive product releases and improvements to meet changing market needs and to achieve strong ROI in appropriate markets and channels.
Drive relevant product meetings, customer conversations, project goals and timelines while representing WideOrbit in a positive and professional manner.
Partner with the VP of Radio Automation, sales and support teams to determine priorities for the engineering team.
Create new industry-leading features while intelligently prioritizing defects and usability issues. Collaborate with the engineering team in finding the best solution to identified defects.
Clearly define new features and create comprehensive written technical documentation that communicates the business case for the feature, defining the issue and solution, and creating use cases for our engineering and quality assurance teams.
Understand the pain points of customers by meeting with them and researching market data in order to analyze current software needs. Define and prioritize features to meet those needs.
Provide guidance and training to WO Automation for Radio’s technical writer to ensure product documentation and release notes are technically correct and sufficiently educational to our customers.
Build and present business updates, product values, product plans and changes (as requested).
Partner with WO Automation for Radio Team to resolve any roadblocks.
Here is what we’re looking for:

3+ years’ experience in the radio industry with a deep understanding of radio engineering, radio programming, and music scheduling
In-depth understanding of Radio Automation software, preferably more than one top-tier system
Understanding of Radio Traffic is preferable
Demonstrate ability in some of the functional competencies of Product Management including: product evangelization, product design, project management, and product planning
Ability to stay abreast of radio trends, other related industries, competing and complementary products
Exceptional verbal and written communications skills; ability to translate complex requirements into easy-to-understand text for an audience that does not have first-hand radio experience, and which includes non-native English speakers
Generates new ideas, challenges the status quo, takes risks, supports change, encourages innovation, solves problems creatively
Makes wise decisions within the context of existing information and goals. Solves root causes of problems vs symptoms. Thinks strategically. Prioritizes work intelligently.
Ability to make recommendations and decisions independently, to present ideas to others and make convincing arguments for the direction of your products
Active listening and information gathering skills to understand customer needs and requests
Proactively anticipate and identify problems before they emerge
Proven organizational skills and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience with technical writing a plus

This position will be based in our Vancouver, WA office.
