Radio One’s Qri Montague says she did nothing to warrant being tased during a traffic stop. Fox 5 in Atlanta reports the confrontation with officer Lemuel Gardner began following Montague’s repeated requests to know why she was in handcuffs. She says she was told she was driving recklessly and could be taken to jail. She was then ordered to sit on the ground but refused because she had a white jumpsuit on.

Montague says she then realized she was wearing a station shirt and walked away to try to remove it because she did not want to be in a mugshot wearing the station logo. Fox 5 reports that’s when the officer “became angry, yelled at her, and drew his Taser.” Montague says the officer pressed it against her leg and fired, leaving prong marks on her leg.

Montague did not go to jail. She was given a ticket. According to Fox 5, The Atlanta Police Department placed the officer on desk duty pending an investigation, however, Gardner handed in his resignation.
