Sports USA Reaches Nifty Milestone

Kudos to our friends at Sports USA, which will become the longest-tenured broadcaster of NFL Sunday afternoon games when it kicks off its 17th NFL season this weekend. Since broadcasting its first NFL game on November 3, 2002, on just 32 stations, Sports USA has continued to expand and can now be heard on over 500 radio affiliates across the country.

After broadcasting nine single NFL games during that 2002 season, Sports USA began broadcasting NFL doubleheaders every Sunday during the regular season in 2003. Last year, Sports USA broadcast its milestone 500th NFL game.

“To become the longest-running radio distributor of NFL Sunday afternoon play-by-play is really an honor,” said Larry Kahn, Sports USA’s founder. “It is a true testament to the talent that we have had on our network and the continued success of the NFL. The past 17 years have gone by in the proverbial blink of an eye.”
