Lots Of Events For WMMS’ Big 50th

On Tuesday, iHeartMedia’s Cleveland Rock station 100.7 WMMS announced a series of events to celebrate its 50th Anniversary. The station, which first hit airwaves on September 28, 1968, will give listeners a chance to relive memorable on-air moments during a month-long celebration. The series of on-air events will culminate with a 50th Anniversary Concert featuring performances from Ozzy Osbourne and Stone Sour on Sunday, September 16 at the Blossom Music Center. 

Monday, August 27 through Friday, August 31, listeners will have a chance to look back at some of the station’s historic on-air moments during “A Celebration of 50 Years of Rock” on WMMS. The five-part segment will broadcast 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

The station will also broadcast a special segment on Saturday, September 1 featuring historic moments from several live rock shows produced by the station over the years. In addition, the station will broadcast Springsteen at the Agora, the 1978 show that was critically acclaimed as one of Springsteen and the E Street Band’s most spirited live recordings. It will air in its entirety on September 2 at 12:00 p.m. The birthday celebration will culminate with the station’s 50th Anniversary Concert on Sunday, September 16, hosted by WMMS personalities Rover and Alan Cox.
