The third annual Hubbard Radio Talent Institute starts this afternoon at Central Washington University with Hubbard CEO Ginny Morris taking the opening session. “Compelling and relatable on-air talent is what separates local radio from all other audio entertainment services. Our investment in the National Radio Talent System at Central Washington University is an extension of Hubbard Radio’s commitment to do our part to nurture and grow the talent pipeline for the industry. We are proud to partner with Dan Vallie and his team in this important initiative”.

Drew Horowitz, President of Hubbard Radio, Marc Kaye VP Market Manager Hubbard Seattle, and over 35 other broadcasters from Hubbard, Entercom, Bonneville, Townsquare, Alpha Media, the Seattle Seahawks and others lead sessions during the ten-day Institute.

Students/future broadcasters accepted into the Institute are immersed in all things radio with sessions including on-air, production, promotions, digital/social media, engineering, news, sports and sales, with each student being certified as a Radio Marketing Professional by RAB. On Friday of this week, the students will be the live studio audience for Mornings with Allan and Ashley from WARM 106.9 in Seattle, broadcasting live on campus at the Institute.

Three former students of the Institute return this year as radio professionals leading a session, Tanner Chambers with the nationally syndicated Fitz in the Morning show, Dylan Hubber with Hubbard Seattle, and Jackson Sager, Associate Producer of the Lars Larsen Show in Portland.

Dan Vallie, Founder and President of the National Radio Talent System, stated: “As critical as embracing technology is to our industry, eventually everyone has access to the same technology…what makes the difference – always has and always will be – is people. These young talent are our future. We are proud to be working together with Hubbard Radio in growing the farm system; discovering, coaching and incubating young talent with a passion for radio”.

The Hubbard Radio Talent Institute at Central Washington is the sixth Institute of the summer and will be followed by the KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute in Kentucky and the MBA Radio Talent Institute at Northwest Missouri State.
