Jay Stevens Leaving Radio One

He’s been the Senior Vice President of Programming at Radio One since 2007. Last night Stevens confirmed he’s leaving the company at the end of July. He told Radio Ink he’ll be taking a break.

Stevens’ radio career began while attending the State University College at Brockport in upstate New York where he worked at radio stations in Rochester. He then moved on the Indianapolis as music Director then Lansing where he landed his first PD. His career progressed with programming jobs in Rochester, NY, New Orleans, Phoenix and Washington, DC.

After programming WPGC in Washington for several years, Jay was promoted to Vice President of Programming, overseeing the CBS DC stations as well as the CBS Urban stations. After 16 years with CBS, Jay was recruited as Sr. VP Programming Content for Radio One, his current position.

  1. Finally a trade publication uses a current headshot of Jay… I hope a few of those who helped along the way get together and throw him a party because he deserves it…
