Host Steps Down To Change Lives

Felicia Monet has been with WEDR-FM, aka 99 JAMZ, “South Florida’s biggest hip-hop station,” for 10 years. But last week she stepped down from her role as afternoon host to concentrate on her latest passion: her non-profit organization, “I Am Greater Than Yesterday!” The organization centers around young women finding their purpose and passion in life — something that Monet is still embarking on.

Said Monet, “In a world where women are sometimes overlooked, over sexualized, and made to feel less than, I created this organization to share tools and create a network of women who will adopt the ‘Each One Teach One’ philosophy. In this current climate, this organization is important to women, as it focuses overcoming the odds, knowing your voice is your power, and the importance of understanding your value.”

As a staple in radio, Felisha has received a few notable awards, including Legacy Magazine’s Top 40 Leaders Under 40, 2X Best Radio Personality Best In Dade Awards, Diamond Award for Best Radio Personality, Cadillac Woman Of Impact Award, and Source Magazine Power 30 Radio DJs.
