(2017) WTOP Does It Again

Hubbard Radio’s WTOP in Washington, DC, is once again radio’s highest-billing radio station, taking in $67.8 million in 2017, according to BIA/Kelsey. That’s three years running now for the all-news station.

Hubbard Market Manager Joel Oxley tells Radio Ink he’s very proud of his WTOP team, “I am extremely proud of the proactive work that we have done to increase our revenue by concentrating on digital, federal and new direct business while at the same time having great, productive relationships with our local agencies, national agencies and our representatives at Katz. Our Director of Sales, Matt Mills, and his team do an incredible job of connecting our advertisers with our users who consume our outstanding news products.”

iHeart’s KIIS-FM (CHR) was second with $63.2 million. There was a tie for third between WHTZ-FM in New York and KBIG in Los Angeles, both owned by iHeart. Coming in fifth was iHeart’s WLTW in New York at $43 million.

Rounding out the top 10: WFAN in New York (Entercom) $41 million, WINS-AM in New York (Entercom) $40 million, WCBS-AM in New York (Entercom) $40 million, WBBM-AM in Chicago (Entercom) $40 million, and KFI in Los Angeles (iHeartMedia) at $35 million.
