Bob Stroud has signed a new, long-term deal with Chicago’s Heritage Classic Rock outlet WDRV (97.1 FM, The Drive) extending his run as weekday host, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. He will also continue hosting his long-running Rock & Roll Roots specialty program Sunday mornings, 7-10 a.m. With the exception of a nine-month assignment in Philadelphia, Stroud has been an uninterrupted presence on Chicago’s airwaves at stations including WLUP, WCKG, AM 1000, WXCD, WXRT and, for the past 17 years, at WDRV.

WDRV Program Director Rob Cressman said, “Bob is not only an exemplary brand ambassador for The Drive, he is an iconic brand in Chicago. Bob’s experience with Classic rock’s artists, and his deep understanding of what makes the genre timeless, have ensconced him as one of Chicago’s premiere sources for music curation. His contributions to the Classic Rock format have been widely celebrated throughout his career. We are thrilled to know that the daily companionship Bob provides the Chicago community will endure for many years to come.”
