Rick Crandall, Program Director and morning show host of KEZW/Denver (Cruisin’ 1430) has a new deal taking him through 2020. Crandall has been a staple of Denver’s broadcast community since he joined KEZW in 1991. Along the way he has earned numerous awards, including the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award for Adult Standards Station of the Year, and the Colorado Broadcasters Association Harry Hoth Award for Public Service. In 2012, the Colorado Broadcast Association named him the Rex Howell Award for Broadcaster of the Year.

I’ve heard that you interviewed Shemya USAAF veterans and know the story and the men who were stationed there during WWII. My Dad, Lt Edward A. Pray was a B-24D pilot there from 1944 to 1045 and I wonder if you could help me with information on what he did and who had served with since my dad didn’t talk about the war. His plane was the “Groundhog” and his squadron bombed Shimushu and Paramushiro Islands. I know that they kept the Japanese from re-invading Alaska after they were pushed out of Attu, Kiska, and Dutch Harbor.
