Radio Returning From Irma’s Blast

Stations that were in the direct path of Hurricane Irma are still repairing or replacing damaged equipment, drying out from flooding, and fixing battered buildings. The FCC reported late on Wednesday that 39 radio stations are still off the air due to Hurricane Irma. That total is down from 51 on Tuesday. Thirty-six of the stations are located in Florida, two are in Georgia, and one is in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Here’s a complete listing of all the stations still down.

– Florida: WMFM, WAXY, WDOZ, W250BH, W298BO, WAQV, WFLJ, WJFH, W251BM, WROK, WAOA-FM, WHKR, WLZR, WIOD, WOLZ, WBTT, WCKT, WZTA, WSVU, WSWN, WOTW, WMFQ, WXUS, WYGC, W240CI, W295BJ, W233AP, WMKO, WMEN, WMFL, WWFR, WJFR, WCNZ, WNWF, WEJZ and WGNE-FM
– Georgia: WLFH, WHFX
– U.S. Virgin Islands: WTJF-FM

Beasley, which was hit extremely hard by the storm reported the following update on Wednesday: In Boca all three AM stations are up and running via generator power. In Fort Myers the office building and studios now all have power. In Tampa all stations are up and running.
