It was August 29, 1977 when Jim Kerr and Shelli Sonstein teamed up for what would become the top-rated morning show in New York City, The Jim Kerr Rock and Roll Morning Show. Kerr has been on-air for 50 years and the morning show host at WPLJ since he was 21. Fifteen years in he was joined by a 23-year-old Sonstein.
“If you are going to spend four hours a day in a little room for decades before the sun even rises, you couldn’t do better than to spend time in that room with Shelli Sonstein,” Kerr says, sharing his feelings about his cohost.

Sonstein and Kerr plan to keep their morning show rocking. They can be heard weekdays on iHeartMedia’s Q104.3 “New York’s Classic Rock,” 5 a.m. – 9 a.m.
