That’s according to Jason Barrett who writes on his sports blog that the June ratings win marks the first victory for the Kay Show since it began airing on 98.7FM ESPN New York in 2002. Kay has rated in the top 10 but hadn’t been able to unseat WFAN’s Mike Francesa who’s leaving WFAN at the end of this year.
Francesa has been a ratings juggernaut for WFAN for many years and even though Kay won in June Francesa was still the winner in the spring book (April-May-June). Barrett reports that during those three months WFAN Francesa pulled in a 5.7 (4th) and Kay registered a 4.9 (6th).
