The station in Salem, SC, is owned by Lake Keowee Broadcasting. A song played repeatedly for about 20 minutes on Sunny 107.9 Monday night with graphic language aimed at the President.

Last night station President Frank Patterson told Radio Ink the situation is now under control and he’s put in more safeguards. “In the coming days even more will be applied at a cost to the station. We are doing everything in our power to track down the hackers and if found we will report them to the FCC and local and federal authorities.”

Patterson said the station was hacked at the transmitter. A Facebook post from Patterson stated, “This is NOT our broadcast! We at WFBS do not take political views.” The station believes the hackers used Internet-connected antennas to loop in the song and the IP addresses were traced to Russia and Taiwan.
