Beasley Closing Sets Off Wave Of Management Changes

0

It happens a lot. When a new company takes over, they like to move in their own people, especially in management. That’s what happened Tuesday when Beasley Media’s $240 million purchase of Greater Media received final government approvals. Here’s what we know so far…

As you’ll read in the stories that follow, former Greater Media Market Managers Rick Feinblatt (Charlotte) and Steve Chessare (Detroit) are now both without a job. Entercom brought in Matt Hanlon to replace Feinblatt. The company grabbed four stations from Beasley in a spin-off in Charlotte. Chessare was replaced by Mac Daniels, who Beasley moved from Fayetteville.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Rick Feinblatt entered the radio business as an Account

Executive for WMMR (then owned by Metromedia). He was named General Sales Manager of the station when it was acquired by Greater Media in April 1997 and was subsequently promoted to Director of Sales for all of Greater Media Philadelphia properties. In January 1999, Feinblatt was named Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Philadelphia cluster. He assumed the additional responsibilities of Vice President of Radio for all of Greater Media radio properties in 2001, before moving into the position full-time in January 2004. He was named market manager of Greater Media Charlotte in October of 2009.

Steve Chessare had been the Vice President/Market Manager of Greater Media’s Detroit cluster since April of 2013. Chessare spent time as senior vice president of sales for Westwood One, GSM for WLTW-FM in New York when the company was still called Clear Channel, and he held positions within CBS Radio which culminated in the role of Vice President/General Manager of CBS Radio Sales, the national sales division of the company’s radio division.

Mary Menna was the Vice President and Market Manager for the Greater Media Boston cluster. From what we understand Menna will continue to run that market for Beasley.

Dan Finn was running Greater Media’s three markets in New Jersey (Middlesex, Monmouth, and Morristown). We also hear that Finn will be staying on to run that cluster for Beasley.
