Original Country Gold with Rowdy Yates has joined the roster on Country Legends 97.1 (KTHT FM) in Houston, and will air Saturdays, 7 p.m. to 12 midnight beginning June 11. Yates worked in Houston from 1994-2011 and is best known for his afternoon drive show on KILT-FM, Rowdy’s Ride Home.
Johnny Chiang, Director of Operations for Cox Media Group Houston, said, “Country Legends 97.1 is proud to welcome Rowdy Yates back to Houston. The Original Country Gold program is the perfect complement to Houston’s number one station for the Legends of Country Music.” Yates added, “Houston will be a homecoming for me as Original Country Gold started as a local Houston broadcast 21 years ago. I can’t wait to welcome all the Houston listeners, new and old.”
