Fisher Takes Nine 1st Place Awards

Alpha Media station in Mason City, IA (KGLO and KRIB) won 11 awards in the Small Market Division of the 2015 Iowa Broadcast News Association contest. KGLO News Director, Bob Fisher, picked up nine awards, including four 1st Place awards. Fisher has received a total of 66 awards in the last 12 years, the second most of any individual in the Small Market Division category during that time. He also placed second in the “Overall Excellence” category, the organization’s top yearly award.

Alpha Media Market Manager, Dalena Barz commented on the announcement, “Bob, Tim, and Jesse are great local broadcasters. They are dedicated and community oriented professionals. It’s great to see their outstanding performance recognized be their peers. We are so fortunate to have them a part of the Alpha team in Mason City.”

“The awards recognize what all three of us believe in, a strong dedication to live and local radio for our listeners across north-central Iowa with our top-notch news and sports programming on KGLO and KRIB,” remarked News Director Bob Fisher.
