Radio’s biggest advertising category had another huge month. Americans bought or leased 1.34 million vehicles in February, which translates to an annual sales rate of 17.5 million. Ford sold 20.2% more new vehicles in February than a year earlier, Fiat Chrysler was up 12%, Toyota’s sales rose 4.1%, Nissan posted a 10.5% increase and Honda sales jumped 12.8%. GM sales fell 1.5%. Low gas prices and 29 days in February helped fuel the strong month.
