Saga CEO Ed Christian Gets Contract Extension

Nearly 30 years ago Saga Communications was launched (it went public in 1992). Ed Christian has run the company since day one. This week, in an SEC filing, the company amended Christian’s current employment agreement, extending his contract as President and CEO through March 31, 2021.

The company will also increase Christian’s salary every year by the greater of four percent or the cost of living increase determined in his agreement. He’ll also get six weeks vacation and the company will pay to do his taxes. If Christian is terminated he will receive severance pay equal to 100% of his then base salary for 24 months payable in equal monthly installments, and after the date upon which notice of termination is given, any unvested or time-vested stock options previously granted to Mr. Christian by the Company.
