Ruth Gaviria is the newly appointed chief marketing officer for Entercom Communications, reporting to president and CEO David Field. She arrives from Univision, where she was EVP/corporate marketing.

“Ruth brings outstanding business acumen and marketing leadership to Entercom,” Field said. “She has a stellar track record of building brands and developing strategies that have accelerated growth in both media and CPG companies. Ruth’s insights, experiences, and industry knowledge will help us elevate Entercom and our radio brands across the country. She will also be instrumental in boosting demand for our integrated marketing solutions and our other various products. We are thrilled to welcome Ruth to Entercom.”

At Univision, Gaviria structured an integrated marketing organization and directed brand strategy and architecture while developing an audience strategy. She also executed three successful upfront presentations related to Univision’s upcoming IPO. Before that, she was VP/Hispanic ventures for Meredith Corp., and she’s also held sales and marketing posts at Time Inc., Miller Bewing, Colgate Palmolive, and Procter & Gamble.

Gaviria said, “Radio, enhanced by its expanded digital footprint, is an increasingly powerful medium. Entercom has deeply rooted fan relationships in the communities we serve and entertain. With massive reach across established and emerging economic powerhouse cities such as Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Boston, and Miami, and a culture of true collaboration, Entercom is poised to innovate and accelerate revenue growth. I look forward to working with David and the team by applying my cross-functional expertise to help take us to new heights.”
