He was one of the biggest rock radio voices in Houston and went on to use his booming voice to start his own production company. Mike McGuff reported Moffett’s passing by writing “radio lost a musical genius.” He worked at KSSR-FM in Houston and told McGuff last year that, “I wasn’t going to take a back seat to [KLOL]. I wanted to lead. So we bombarded them. I mean, I, I put that station everywhere I could. We had a million bumper stickers printed. At first run. And we gave them all away and printed another million.”
