We’re used to quietly hearing about a settlement between Nielsen and radio companies when a lawsuit is filed and radio’s “currency” has been challenged. Not in the case against Bubba The Love Sponge. Certain dates for discovery and pre-trial hearings and conferences have been set for 2016 in the latest filing with the court. The document says that both sides should be ready for a trial by January of 2017 and it also says that Bubba will not agree to be deposed by Nielsen for a total of 14 hours. That issue has to be resolved by the court. And, perhaps most importantly, the document says that both sides agree a settlement is unlikely.
