The Register is reporting that streaming pioneer Live365 has laid off a “significant” chunk of its staff and may have to shut down soon if it does not get funding. Two weeks ago Live365 said it had lost the support of its investors. The new royalty rates set by the CRB may have something to do with the challenges the company is facing. Live365.com launched back in 1999.
