101.7 KKIQ & 92.1 KKDV received over 1,200 toys for Sleep Train Foster Kids during the 2nd Annual Wayne Coy’s Toys Radiothon Toy Drive on Friday, December 11. Hometown Mornings’ host Wayne Coy was broadcasting live for 12 hours from the local Walmart, encouraging listeners to donate new, unwrapped toys for local foster kids. There are over 400,000 children in the U.S. foster care system, many of whom have entered the system with few or no possessions of their own. Sleep Train Foster Kids, through its Ticket to Dream Foundation™, a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit, was created in 2008 to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of foster children in need. With the help of our community, KKIQ & KKDV helped brighten the holiday for local foster children.

Alpha Media SVP Market Manager, Phil D’Angelo commented on the announcement, “This is a great example of “Live and Local” radio. I couldn’t be prouder of our staff and our community that came together to support Sleep Train’s Foster Kids program.”
