The really sad thing here ......... Is that two children have lost their mother. And that because of her depression, she thought ... she and her children would be better off if she were not alive. Sad indeed.

I'm sorry, but this woman had to have been in a very fragile state to begin with. And while this may well have been the final "push" that sent her over the ledge, the fact is she had attempted suicide before, AND this is the oldest - and possible most stale - DJ joke in the business. These two had NOTHING to do with this woman's death, except for being unfortunate enough to have her answer the phone.

This is a sorrowful moment for all parties involved - the family, the hospital, the station and the DJs. While the station / DJs may not be fully responsible -ie. directly caused the downward spirial to suicide, it still seems to have been the peverbal "last straw," which = part blame. All around the world this "shock jock technique" is used on radio. I'm thankful as a member of the industry that this has not happened more frequently, unfortunately, it was only a matter of time.
