(AUDIO) Goodman Snags NextMedia
It was no secret Dean Goodman was gunning for the 33 stations NextMedia was trying to sell after Townsquare walked away. Goodman's company, Digity LLC, which is an affiliate of Palm Beach Broadcasting, is expected to close on the purchase in the first quarter of 2014. Of course, with the government in flux, those dates are all moving targets for now. The financial terms were not announced, however both Goodman and NextMedia CEO Jim Donahoe told Radio Ink on Thursday the price was fair. The deal also includes two stations in Chicago, which are currently held by The Mile High Station Trust. We spoke to Goodman at length yesterday about the deal, why he wanted the NextMedia stations, his plans for growth, and his thoughts on the radio industry in general.
