Burns Still Fighting The FCC


3 Daughters Media owner Gary Burns is trying to prevent Mel Wheeler from adding WLNI-FM to its cluster in Roanoke. Burns says the purchase of WLNI from Centennial would put Wheeler over the legal limit giving his competition an unfair advantage over him in that market. The FCC denied Burns' original filing, but he appealed that decision (Read his filing here). Burns says the FCC miscounted the number of stations in the market (at 45) because WODI-AM is off the air and granting Wheeler a 5th would put him over the legal limit. Burns also picked up local coverage on the story from the HERE
