Former KGO/KSFO Talk Host Lee Rodgers Dies

2-1-2013
Longtime Bay Area broadcaster Lee Rodgers has died. Rodgers was having heart issues and actually died on the operating table last night, having his heart operated on. In a blog post, his wife Susan wrote, "He died like he lived. He was brave to take the chances of a risky surgery and thanked his surgeons prior to beginning to try to find a way to extend his 'used-by' date."
His former partner Melanie Morgan told Radio Ink last night, "Lee Rodgers was wickedly funny and one of the industry's most exceptional entertainers. He was always brutally honest, a proudly principled conservative, and never backed away from a fight."

(2/3/2013 2:23:49 AM) I was immediately drawn to Lee's rich voice, his politics, his humor, his love of music, and his professionalism. He put in the time to make his shows special, and it showed! He was a giant in the industry. I will raise a glass, or more, to this most amazing and unique man. |

(2/2/2013 8:58:58 PM) It is a major loss in my life. Mr. Rodgers was the most honest, up front radio person I have ever heard. He held no punches, like him or hate (to those A-Holes that did). God Bless you Lee, I will miss reading your daily insight, and hearing your voice of truth. |
