CBS Gives Gavin Spittle Big Promotion

Gavin Spittle has been named VP of News/Talk/Sports Programming for CBS's Dallas-Fort Worth stations. Spittle will oversee the programming and operations for KRLD-FM (105.3 The FAN) , KRLD-AM (NewsRadio 1080), and the Texas State Networks. Spittle returns to the market after three and a half years as PD for CBS's KILT-AM (SportsRadio 610) in Houston, where he was also responsible for the Houston Texans Radio Network. During Spittles tenure at KILT-AM, the station rose from a rank of 21st to 8th in the target demographic of men 25-54.

Under Gavins leadership, SportsRadio 610 dominated Houston sportstalk, said Brian Purdy, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for CBS Radio Dallas-Fort Worth. During his time with the station, ratings among men 25-54 more than doubled. Were fortunate to have Gavin as part of our CBS Radio family, and were looking forward to having him back in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Prior to his role in Houston, Spittle was Vice President of News and Talk for CBS Radio Dallas-Fort Worth, where he was responsible for KRLD-FM (which was Live 105.3 until Spittle oversaw the format change to sports in December 2008), KRLD-AM, and the Texas Rangers Radio Network. Before that, he was Program Director of CBS RADIOs KXNT-AM in Las Vegas.
