Kelly Music Research Surveys 1 Millionth Song

In the 18 months since it started developing Digital Callout and Library testing, Kelly Music Research's newest innovation has tested a lot of songs.  Now over 1,000,000 surveyed. On Monday, Cyntha, a female radio listener in Knoxville, TN recorded the one-millionth score when she rated Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" a 3 on the five point scale on Kelly's digital testing platform. Cyntha will receive a special gift for being number 1,000,000. 

Kelly's Digital Callout and Digital Library research systems combine the control measures and random sampling of traditional callout and auditorium recruiting with the cost efficiencies of online research.  Listeners are randomly recruited to join the online panel and then randomly selected to receive digitally encoded survey invitations. 

Kelly says for radio stations one of the key differences between call center research and the digital system is the flexibility the listener has to participate in the survey.  According to KMR GM, Paul Kelly, "Cyntha wanted to participate in the survey, but not between 4pm and 9pm when telephone research is done.  She chose to do it at 8:58 am, a time that was convenient for her.  This 'On Demand' flexibility is one reason so many more listeners are willing to participate."
