Public Radio Program Directors Offering Morning Edition Grad School.

The PRPD will off the one day program to help public radio stations improve the local presentation of NPR’s Morning Edition. The date is April 16 in Tampa. Part of the Local News Initiative, the Morning Edition Grad School sm is aimed at assuring peak performance for Morning Edition® on local stations. This session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at WUSF-FM on the campus of the University of South Florida. 

All programming elements that impact listening will be addressed. That includes station journalism and deciding which national segments to carry as well as smaller but important elements such as time checks and weather forecasts.” Nearly 100 stations have already participated in Morning Edition Grad School sm. Seventy-five percent have shown an increase in listenership during Morning Edition. The cost to attend Morning Edition Grad School sm in Tampa on April 16 is $600 for members of PRPD and $1,000 for non-members.  Those who wish to attend may register online at http://tinyurl.com/MEGSTampa by March 16, 2011.
