Steve Harvey to Mentor Young Men In L.A. February 18th
February 3, 2011 -- On February 18-20, 2011 in Los Angeles, comedian, best-selling author, top radio personality and TV host Steve Harvey will host a special Steve Harvey Mentoring Weekend for Young Men for 100 Los Angeles-area teenage boys at the University of Southern California.
This program created by Harvey to bring guidance to young men who are without fathers in their lives, empowering them with the principles of manhood and dream building, Harvey and other special guests will share inspiration, insight and important tools during an unforgettable 3-day weekend experience. Returning to Los Angeles where he kicked off his radio show The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Harvey comes together with sponsors American Airlines, US Army, KJLH-FM, and special guests including Lamman Rucker, Terrence J, Cedric The Entertainer, and other leaders who inspire youth in various industries.
Chosen from a slew of essay submissions, the Steve Harvey Mentoring Weekend is mentoring 100 teenage boys aged 13-18, between grades 9-12, from single-mother households in the Los Angeles area. The cornerstone of Steve Harvey’s community activities, to transform and empower teenage boys to build the future and life that they want, Harvey will host his annual Steve Harvey Mentoring Weekend in Dallas during Father’s Day Weekend for 100 teenage boys from across the country, and also host Regional Mentoring Weekends in New Orleans, Chicago and New York in 2011.
