Houston Morning Man Runs Across Lone Star State
December 30, 2009: 93Q Houston morning host Kevin Kline has completed Strides Across Texas, his 13-day, 481-mile effort to raise $500,000 for pediatric cancer research. Before beginning his run on December 20, Kline said, "Everything about the run is designed to symbolically and metaphorically mirror the experience of pediatric cancer patients. The isolation, the monotony of treatments, the lying in bed, the throwing up, just watching TV."
Dr. ZoAnn Dreyer of the long-term survivor program at Texas Children's Cancer Center says of Kline’s fundraising efforts, which are ongoing: "The money he raises is critical, and his persona is so strong and his compassion is so compelling he serves as an inspiration to all of our kids."
