Schiller Takes Top Fundraising Role At NPR
September 3, 2009: Ronald Schiller is joining NPR as SVP for development and president of the NPR Foundation. Schiller, who arrives at NPR full-time October 15, will be reporting directly to NPR President/CEO Vivian Schiller (no relation) and will head the public broadcaster's fundraising efforts.
Schiller is coming in from the University of Chicago, where he's been serving as VP/alumni relations and development. At NPR, he'll lead initiatives including major and planned giving and foundation grants.
"Ron has performed far beyond expectations at every institution he has served," Vivian Schiller said. "I am thrilled he is joining us at this critical time to lead our efforts in raising the funds necessary for NPR and our stations to thrive."
Before joining the University of Chicago, Ron Schiller led fundraising for Carnegie Mellon, as well as Northeastern University, Cornell, and other schools.
