The Return of Charlie Pallilo

20-year sports talk veteran Charlie Pallilo has been hired by Gow Media in Houston. Starting August 21, Pallilo will host a weekday show on SB Nation 1560-AM from 11 am-1 pm. Pallilo was hired by iHeart’s sports-talker KBME-AM in 2004. He was fired last October when iHeart brought in former KILT-AM Houston host Josh Innes when he was let go in Philadelphia. Pallilo has been on Radio Ink’s top local sports talkers list twice, ranked 11th and 10th.

“I am thrilled to add Charlie to our lineup,” said David Gow, CEO of Gow Media. “Charlie has a long-time, loyal following. He provides thoughtful, insightful analysis and dialogue with his listeners. He is going to make a mark at Gow Media.”

“I am eager to get back at it,” said Charlie Pallilo. “It has been great getting to know the team at Gow Media, and I look forward to reconnecting with listeners.”

Pallilo will also make guest appearances on ESPN 97.5FM, Mondays and Fridays from 1-1:30 pm on “The Usual Suspects” hosted by Joel Blank and Barry Laminack, and on Wednesdays from 10-10:30 am with “John Granato and Raheel Ramzanali with Del.” Pallilo will also write for the company’s websites.

  1. Houston sports radio is not the same without Charlie. He’s the one constant whenever something inexplicably happens on the sports landscape and you really want a thoughtful, cogent reaction to it. No one else in Houston sports radio provides this element. Charlie takes local sports to a cerebral level that makes his show different than all others. I’ve challenged him over the years, disagreed with him over the years, and have even been frustrated with his persnickety ways at times. But Charlie P. is my guy. Thanks Mr. Gow for making Houston sports radio relevant once again.
