Asleep At The Wheel To Perform At Marconi’s

The multi-Grammy Award-winning country band will perform at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show, on Thursday, September 7. The event is part of the 2017 Radio Show, held September 5-8 at the JW Marriott Austin and produced by the National Association of Broadcasters and Radio Advertising Bureau. Asleep at the Wheel started out in 1970 and have 10 Grammy Awards, 20 studio albums and 20 singles on the Billboard country charts, to their name. The band is best known for songs like “Route 66,” “Boogie Back to Texas,” “Take Me Back to Tulsa” and “The Letter That Johnny Walker Read.”

“Asleep at the Wheel is one of the most important sounds in country music,” said NAB Executive Vice President of Radio John David. “We’re honored to present a true taste of Austin in the ‘Live Music Capital of the World’ at the Marconi Radio Awards Dinner and Show.”

Syndicated radio personality Rickey Smiley will emcee the event.
