Last night we reached out to Kerri Kasem to get her reaction to the lawsuit file by Jean. Kerri told Radio Ink, “This frivolous lawsuit was filed because Jean Kasem thinks that this will delay her own wrongful death suit and confuse people about what really happened to my dad. She never served anyone that she names in the suit and she could not get a lawyer to take the case on so she’s going “pro se.”
Kerri went on to say that everything she and her family did was pursuant to court orders and doctors orders. “And we never “pulled the plug” on my dad that is so painful to hear. The doctors told us his organs were shutting down and the worst thing you can do to somebody who’s dying is to continue hydration and force-feed them. My dad’s feeding tube was backing up and his lungs were filling with liquid and he was going to drown to death. It was the sepsis, bedsore, lung and bladder infection that he got in Jean’s care that led to his demise. The 15 days in the hospital was not what killed him. He also never had pain medication for three weeks he was with Jean.”
Kasem also pointed to a documentary about the case called “Autopsy: The Last Hours of Casey Kasem.” “The REELZ channel collected evidence from medical records in court records and put this together. When a TV show points to someone and says they were the demise of a person you bet it’s gone through tons of legal vetting. And that’s exactly what they say about Jean at the end of this documentary.”
