ESPN Films’ and ESPN Audio’s new podcast series will debut on Tuesday, June 27, while the podcast feed was launched Tuesday. 30 for 30 Podcasts will tell original, sports stories in the same vein as the acclaimed 30 for 30 documentaries. Each episode will explore and report on a new sports story that will be a combination of original interviews and archival sound. The first season will include a total of five installments, with one debuting every Tuesday from June 27 through July 25.
“ESPN Films continues to strive to tell sports stories in their best form – whether that be as a traditional documentary, a short film, an eight-hour film, or as a podcast,” said Libby Geist, Vice President and Executive Producer, ESPN Films and Original Content. “We’re thrilled to finally launch 30 for 30 Podcasts, and hopefully bring something new to this space.”
