Pistons Return To CBS Radio

The Detroit Pistons and CBS Radio Detroit announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to a multi-year deal with “97.1 FM The Ticket” (WXYT), making the station the team’s radio flagship partner beginning with the 2017-18 season. Mark Champion will return for his 24th season as the play-by-play voice and Rick Mahorn will be serving his 16th season as analyst. Games that conflict with Red Wings or Tigers broadcasts will be moved to WWJ 950 AM.

The Pistons games were being broadcast on the former “Detroit’s Sports 105.1” WMGC-FM since 2014. That station flipped formats to classic Hip Hop “The Bounce.” The third and final year of the deal between the station and The Pistons was honored last year with games being broadcast on the music station.
