Alpha Media’s Mankato (Minnesota) cluster – KYSM, KRBI, KEEZ, and KMKO – raised $63,885 with their St. Jude Cares for Kids Radiothon. The radiothon was held March 23-24 and was the 16th for the Mankato group. The mayors of Mankato and North Mankato proclaimed the month of March as St. Jude Month. Local area bars and restaurants sold specially created cocktails and had profits go toward the radiothon. A local petroleum company also partnered with Alpha Media, Mankato by doing “Pennies at the Pump,” where two cents from every gallon bought during the month of March would go toward St. Jude.
Alpha Media Mankato Market Manager Bob Rose, said, “I am so proud of the Mankato team for their tireless efforts in hosting our 16th annual radiothon for St. Jude Kids. Each person who works at the radio station is a strong believer in the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It’s because of their beliefs and passion that we were able to achieve new fundraising records in our communities.”
