SBS Says Union Bullying Company in L.A.

The company’s General Counsel Richard Lara (pictured) told Radio Ink last night that SBS has always valued and been committed to its employees and will continue to do so moving forward. SBS has, at all times, negotiated in good faith with SAG/AFTRA concerning a potential collective bargaining agreement involving the approximate 25 employees making up the bargaining unit at our two L.A. radio stations. The company will continue to negotiate with the union despite the union’s inflammatory remarks in the media. It’s a blatant attempt to force the company into accepting unreasonable SBS Logodemands.”

At SBS’s two Los Angeles Radio stations, La Raza (KLAX/KXOL – 97.9 FM) and La Mega (96.3 FM). SAG-AFTRA claims employees are being paid less than the legally mandated minimum wage, are denied meal breaks and access to bathrooms during live and remote events, denied overtime in violation of California law, denied cell phone reimbursements, and are not paid talent endorsement fees.”

Lara told Radio Ink last night that SBS was forced to file unfair labor charges against SAG/AFTRA with the National Labor Relations Board.
