If Mark Teixeira’s career on the diamond is anything to go by, his contributions to The Michael Kay Show on 98.7 ESPN will be priceless. The former first baseman will be at the mic every Thursday at 5 p.m., offering his opinions and analysis, beginning March 30. Teixeira, 36, retired in 2016 after playing 14 seasons in the majors with four different teams, most recently with the New York Yankees. A five-time Gold Glove winner, the switch-hitting Teixeira batted .268 for his career and hit 409 homers while driving in 1,298 runs.
“We are excited to add Mark to our broadcast team at 98.7 ESPN,” said Ryan Hurley, 98.7 ESPN program director. “New York sports fans can look forward to his unique insight, expertise, and some laughs when he joins Michael, Don, and Peter on the show.”
