Afternoon host Cortney Hicks (pictured) will shift to daytime announcer in the 10 a.m.-3 p.m. slot. She will also continue her duties as V 101.9 Music Director. Hicks’ move finds Tone X taking over afternoons, 3-7 p.m. Tone is well known as a writer, actor, and comedian. He was previously a co-host of No Limit Larry and the Morning Madd House on WPEG Power 98 FM for 12 years.

In addition, Derrick “Fly Ty” Jacobs returns to WBAV to do mornings (6-10 a.m. weekdays); Kenneth “DJ Rham” Blackmon makes his way back to Charlotte from Atlanta, to be the Production/Imaging Director for WBAV/WPEG; and, after taking an extended break from radio, Stu “Hanna’s Baby Boy” Robinson has made his return to the Carolinas. Robinson was most recently afternoon drive talent/Music Director for WBTP Tampa. He will be on air 7 p.m. to Midnight.

“All of these positive changes are a reminder that I am thankful to my GM Bill Schoening,” said Operations Manager Jeff Anderson. “I have been given a chance to build a team of talented radio professionals who can raise the bar of radio excellence in the Queen City.”
