One of Radio’s well-known sales consultants died this week. Irwin Pollack could light up a room with his enthusiasm for selling and selling radio. Pollack was a regular at the RAB conferences and traveled the country consulting groups or coming into markets to teach multiple groups. He became an attorney after his career consulting radio stations.

From his Facebook page, this message from his wife “Irwin, my amazing husband, incredible father and so much more to so many more has moved on to whatever challenge awaits him after this life. Thank you all for your kind words and love. A true gift from God to our family even if just for a short time. Thank you for sharing your stories, memories and feelings.” A celebration of Irwin’s life will be held in Foxboro on Friday, January 20th at 11:30am.

  1. I used to work as an a/e at a station in Dover. In 1992 Irwin was coming into town and was asked by my GM if I would pick Irwin up in Phila. He and I drove back to Philly and had a great chat. The next day I attended his seminar and remember how cold the room was. Loved it!

I also remember his colombo technique and pull back the business card move.

Plus living in Boston his radio ads were awesome.

    Rest in Peace

  2. When I first got into the sales side of the business Irwin’s training tools and articles were so valuable to me..Thank you Irwin…R.I. P.

  3. Sad to hear, but may he rest in peace. I was fortunate to take a Pollack seminar in Detroit, back in the late ’90s…a great experience that none of us ever forget, if only for his huge enthusiasm for Radio and the success of everyone in it. Thank you, good sir.

  4. Very sad to learn of Irwin’s passing. Those in the radio industry for the past several decades knew of Irwin. His would be the must see seminar at the RAB MLC’s. High energy, loaded with usable ideas that could be put into practice immediately. And one of the funniest guys you would ever encounter. Nothing would phase Irwin. He was one of a kind.
