NAB Wants FCC To Reconsider Ownership Rules

With a new administration about to take over Washington, the National Association of Broadcasters is making it known again that broadcasters believe ownership regulations now on the books are antiquated and the NAB is asking the government agency to consider changing its recent decision to leave the rules in place.

The NAB has filed a 32 page petition urging the Commission to reconsider major aspects of its rules stating “they are divorced from current competitive realities, are based on faulty premises or misunderstandings and prevent local broadcasters from competing and serving their local communities effectively.”
