Hillary Clinton Winning The Radio War

Not only is Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton using local radio hosts to try to help her cross the finish line to the White House, she is also spending money. According to Media Monitors, Clinton purchased just over 16,000 commercials on radio stations in the 85 markets Media Monitors tracks. That’s up from 15,531 a week earlier. Donald Trump ran 781 commercials.

What about the PAC money? Media Monitors says Priorities USA Action, the Super PAC, aired 1,897 spots on behalf of Hillary Clinton. The Super PAC The 2016 Committee aired 461 spots for Donald Trump in the last 10 days, down from 1,114 in our last report.

The Democratic Party of Illinois bought 342 spots in support of Hillary Clinton, while a Super PAC called Hardhats For America ran 334 spots for Clinton. Both are new to this report. AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) ran 159 pro-Clinton ads. The PFAW (People For The American Way) Super PAC ran 41 spots in support of Clinton, while the Super PAC Local Voices added 10 pro-Clinton spots. And finally, the National Rifle Association’s Institute For Legislative Action bought three spots in support of Trump.

The total number of spots run for Hillary Clinton was 18,791, while the total for Donald Trump was 1,245 ads.

On the negative side of the ledger, there were 2,100 spots run against Donald Trump by Priorities USA Action in the last 10 days. That is down from 2,359 in our last report. Next, the Super PAC PFAW (People For The American Way) aired 261 spots against Donald Trump. America’s PAC ran only 49 spots against Hillary Clinton. The AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) added 26 spots against Donald Trump. And Local Voices placed six spots against Donald Trump. The total number of spots aired against Donald Trump was 2,393, while the total number against Hillary Clinton on radio was 49.
