Country Singer Todd O’Neill has won the NASH Next 2016 Challenge artist development competition. O’Neill, who hails from Hammond, LA, will receive national radio airplay on Cumulus Media radio stations, a recording contract with Big Machine Label Group, and will have an original song produced by Jay DeMarcus, one-third of supergroup Rascal Flatts. In addition, Country Inns & Suites presented O’Neill with a cash prize of $5,000.

The final competition event took place at Mercy Lounge in Nashville with live performances from the Top 10 national finalists and a special performance from Trent Harmon, Season 15 Winner of FOX’s American Idol. The finals event showcased up-and-coming country talent discovered through a national grassroots talent search.

“This entire NASH Next experience has been amazing and I’m excited for the next chapter,” said O’Neill. “I just feel so blessed and truly thankful to my fans for supporting me over the years.”

Mike McVay, Senior Vice President, Content and Programming for Cumulus Media and Westwood One, said, “Radio leads the way when it comes to music discovery. NASH Next 2016 Challenge genuinely discovers new artists, enables all of the contestants to be heard, and allows the winners to take advantage of an amazing opportunity to be produced by a Grammy nominee. The listeners and the fans of the artists rated our 10 finalists. The judges made the final pick based on performance. The winners are all of us because we now get to enjoy the newly launched career of Todd O’Neill.”
